'Yellowstone' Production Costs Revealed & It Takes So Much Money to Produce the Hit Drama!
Ranch Fees
Paramount is actually paying Taylor Sheridan a ton of money not as a showrunner, but as a ranch owner.
To use his own ranches, which include the infamous Four Sixes Ranch (which his investment group purchased in 2022), it costs Paramount up to $50,000 a week.
Cattle fees, Livestock, and Other Props
To fill out the background and set, various animals and props are needed.
For a cattle wrangler, that’s at least $3,000, and for the cattle, it’s $25 per head.
Then, there’s the saddles for the horses, which aren’t just any saddles. There are 24 saddles in the style used by Royal Canadian Mounted Police, valued at $23,519.19.
