Michael Weatherly Drops a HUGE Hint About the NCIS Spinoff

Tony & Ziva Get Their Own NCIS Spinoff

We've all been practically vibrating with anticipation for the NCIS: Tony & Ziva spinoff, right? It feels like we’ve been waiting forever to see our favorite will-they-won't-they-oh-wait-they-did couple back on screen. Well, grab your nearest Probie coffee mug, because Tony DiNozzo himself – the ever-charming Michael Weatherly – just dropped a crumb of information that has us buzzing.

The Wait Feels Long, But There's Hope!

Like us, you're probably wondering when exactly this glorious reunion is hitting Paramount+. The suspense is real! Fans have been (very politely, mostly!) nudging Weatherly on social media for any tiny update. And guess what? He actually responded!

So, What Did Michael Weatherly Actually Say?

Someone on X (you know, the platform formerly known as Twitter) asked the million-dollar question: When is the show coming?! And Michael, in classic Weatherly fashion, gave a reply that was both hopeful and slightly... quirky?

"Oh hi-ho! It's so, so… close to nearly being a thing we can show," he wrote.

Okay, "close to nearly being a thing" sounds promising, right? Like, really promising! But then, because he's Michael Weatherly, he added this little gem:

"But do you [know] why Doctors are so good at golf? They have lots of Patients. (But not like crazy patience. Like, normal patience with surprises that make you happy. Like Xmas Patience)."

Leave it to him to compare waiting for the Tiva spinoff to… doctors playing golf? And Christmas morning? Honestly, it’s a bit confusing, but the underlying message seems clear: hang tight, good things are coming, and it might not be that much longer! It definitely sounds like he’s just as eager as we are for us to see it.

Naturally, fans jumped into the replies, sharing the excitement. Comments like "Sooo looking forward to it!" and "Can't wait! NCIS is a family affair for our crew!" pretty much sum up how we all feel. It’s more than just a show; for many of us, it is a family affair.

A Quick Refresher: Where Did We Leave Tony & Ziva?

Just in case you need a little memory jog (it has been a while!), the last we properly saw these two together, they were rebuilding their life in Paris with their daughter, Tali. Remember the relief when Ziva turned out to be alive after all that heartache? They finally got their family reunited.

What Kind of Trouble Are They In This Time?

Well, paradise doesn't last forever in the world of NCIS, does it? The new ten-episode series kicks off with Tony and Ziva raising Tali, seemingly settled. But then – disaster strikes. Tony's security company gets attacked, forcing the entire family to go on the run across Europe. Talk about raising the stakes!

The official word is they'll be trying to figure out who's hunting them down while maybe, just maybe, learning to trust each other again amidst the chaos. We're promised an "unconventional happily ever after," and honestly, would we expect anything less from these two? Globetrotting adventure with a side of intense relationship dynamics? Sign us UP.

Who Else is Joining the Adventure?

It's not just about our main duo! They've snagged some seriously impressive talent for this series. Get this: Julian Ovenden (yes, Charles Blake from Downton Abbey!) is playing the Secretary General of Interpol, Jonah. And James D'Arcy (you might know him as Jarvis from Agent Carter or from Oppenheimer) is playing a high-ranking Interpol official named Henry.

Plus, we've got Amita Suman (Shadow and Bone), Lara Rossi (The Watch), Nassima Benchicou (Emily in Paris), Terence Maynard (Coronation Street), and Maximilian Osinski joining the fray. And Isla Gie is returning as their daughter, Tali! That's quite the lineup!

Okay, But When Can We Watch?!

Ah, back to the big question! While Michael's hint is exciting, the official line is still sometime in 2025 on Paramount+. No firm date yet, but Weatherly's "so, so close" definitely makes that 2025 window feel a little more real and maybe even leaning towards the earlier side? (Wishful thinking? Maybe!)

We do know filming wrapped back in February. Michael even shared a hilarious selfie from a bathtub on X, saying, "Ahhh… finally wrapping Season 1 of NCIS: Tony & Ziva… and feeling how much I love bathtubs." Classic.

So, keep practicing that "Xmas Patience," folks. It sounds like the Tiva reunion is shaping up to be everything we hoped for, and according to Tony DiNozzo himself, it’s tantalizingly close. We’ll be right here with you, counting down the days!
