NCIS: Origins Expands! 8 New Cast Members Join the Prequel Series

The NCIS: Origins cast is expanding rapidly.

Several new actors have joined the lineup as regulars for the CBS prequel series, which secured a guaranteed spot on the network’s schedule for the upcoming season (2024-2025).

Here’s what to expect, via Deadline: executive produced and narrated by Mark HarmonOrigins begins in 1991, years prior to the events of NCIS, and chronicles Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ younger years. In the prequel, Gibbs starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NIS Camp Pendleton office where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks.

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s to come, courtesy of Deadline: with Mark Harmon serving as both narrator and executive producer, Origins takes us back to 1991, well before the original NCIS. The show follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in his early days as a fresh-faced special agent. Gibbs joins a rough-and-ready crew at the newly established NIS Camp Pendleton office, where he finds his footing under the guidance of the legendary Mike Franks.

The Australian Longmire star will take on the recurring guest star role of Jackson Gibbs, “the hard-nosed father of one-day NCIS team leader Jethro,” played in the original series by Mark HarmonTVLine reported on April 18.

Daniel Bellomy as Special Agent Granville “Granny” Dawson – JOINING AS RECURRING GUEST STAR!

The Power Book II: Ghost star will recur as Special Agent Granville “Granny” Dawson, “a ‘probie’ who’s cutting his teeth as the Evidence Custodian’s assistant, all the while itching to work his way up the ranks to field agent,” TVLine reported on April 18.

Caleb Martin Foote as Special Agent Benjamin “Randy” Randolf – JOINING AS RECURRING GUEST STAR!

The Made for Love star will recur as Special Agent Benjamin “Randy” Randolf, “the agency’s all-too-lovable ‘golden boy.’ Tasked with showing the newly minted Agent Gibbs the ropes, this father of young twins is thankfully practiced in patience,” via TVLine on April 18.
