In an interview with People at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards, the 67-year-old actor Kevin Costner shared his cherished memories of working with the iconic Whitney Houston on the set of "The Bodyguard." The film, a major success, featured Houston's unforgettable performance of "I Will Always Love You."
“When movies are working at their very best, they’re about moments and images that you’ll never ever forget,” Costner said.
He highlighted the impact of her iconic song "I Will Always Love You": “I don’t think we’ll ever forget when that little song came out, that she just blew up. She sang the first part of it a cappella and musically the world was never the same.”
Costner added, “We have a moment of her in that movie we’ll never ever forget that and I think that when movies are working at their best, that’s what can happen.”
The two actors developed a close bond while filming, and Costner went on to deliver a heartfelt speech at her funeral in 2012.
