Amber Marshall Swaps Horses for Vines: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at "Love in Harmony Valley"
From Heartland to Harmony Valley: Amber Marshall's New Romantic Journey
Fans love Amber Marshall for her role as Amy Fleming on the long-running TV show Heartland. In UPtv's original movie Love in Harmony Valley, she takes on a new challenge. She plays Emma Willoughby, a woman who is tasked with revitalizing a local winery with her best friend's brother (Eric Hicks). This time, she swaps horses for vines. However, their shared history is complicated by a past accident that still casts a shadow over their relationship.
There's a unique love story
Marshall gives us an exclusive first look at what makes this love story unique. "Both characters come into this story with their own turmoil," she says. "They can see the weakness in each other, and in turn, they help each other overcome it, but it’s not recognized in the very beginning." Over time, this original tension gives way to something deeper. "As they get to know each other and learn more about their past, this beautiful and magically new love story unfolds."
What Makes Filming a Movie Different from Filming a TV Show
Marshall, who is deeply familiar with the world of television through her work on Heartland (currently airing its 13th season on UPtv), also shared her perspective on the differences between filming a movie and a TV series. “Filming a movie is a really neat way of wrapping your mind around the character,” she says. Unlike a TV show, where character arcs can evolve over multiple seasons with unpredictable twists and turns, a film offers a defined beginning, middle, and end. In Love in Harmony Valley, Marshall knew her character's complete journey from the outset, allowing for a more focused and contained performance.
